For most aspiring musicians, picking up a new instrument is a daunting task. After all, there’s a steep learning curve involved in mastering any skill.

But as it turns out, practicing an instrument isn’t enough for many successful musicians. That’s because there’s no substitute for experience.

5) Her Family Lived in Greece for Many Years

Greece is where she was born and raised. She moved to America when she was 17 years old, but her roots are in Greece. She even learned how to play her instrument of choice, guitar, from a Greek guitarist named Stathis Koukos.

And though she spent many years in Greece growing up, she grew up speaking English only and did not learn Greek until after moving to America.
